Melco Crown Entertainment

Design and Build

The overall design of Melco's career center is sleek, chic and very ‘boutique’ like.  As the client hoped it will bring an unique experience for visitors who enter the career center and also a modish atmosphere to inspire the employees of the career center.

A large & narrow white reception desk awaits the visitors upon entering as the company’s logo and video are shown vividly on the back wall.  The ground floor is composed of various contrasting materials & elements: from raw concrete flooring, painted brick walls, open and suspended grid ceiling, to the irregular mirror tile pattern on the textured concrete columns.  Followed by the various seating areas and designer furniture to the different & exciting graphics in every interview room; all tells a story of the space and the company itself.

To improve communicate between the space, we decided to break up ground floor and 1st floor.  A void area was opened directly above the reception area from G/F to 1/F office level.  A raw steel staircase with a splash of sliver paint finish was designed to fit into the space and used as a daily transport from G/F to 1/F.

Although ‘white’ is the common language used throughout the space in G/F, thus in 1/F the use of colorful organic shapes on carpet, playful breakout area, use of classy yet fashionable fabric in the board room, and frosted glass bride continues the cool yet funky attitude throughout the 2 floors.
